Taiwan has two of the leading laptop makers in the world. They are Asus and Acer. Another company which is famous for laptop making is MSI. It is very interesting to see that laptop vendors in Taiwan are now engaged in a price war in the Taiwanese market. The year is finishing and next year many new models of cheap laptops are expected to come in the market.
What I think is that in 2010, OLPC may shock everyone with its second generation XO-2 which is expected to be around $100. So, I think that all the major laptop makers will come up with number of cheap laptop models in 2009. That is why Taiwanese laptop vendors are now busy with clearing up their stocks of low-cost mini laptops or Netbooks before 2008 finishes.
