Sony is going to launch giant 18.4-inch VAIO AW notebook series for European users who want to say good bye to their desktop PC and would love to have a high quality desktop replacement laptop for multimedia and entertainment uses.
Sony VAIO AW with the starting price of £999 is based on Centrino 2 Platform and is powered by Core 2 Duo T9600 processor, huge and fast 128GB SSD Flash memory working together in a RAID array with the 500GB SATA drive, and a Blu-ray Disc drive.
As the laptop is an entertainment laptop it comes with two important features:
The system brings mini-cinema effect to your home by its Dolby Home Theatre audio signal processing and 2.1 channel speakers with the integrated subwoofer.
Using the same blacklighting technique as its BRAVIA LCD televisions offering Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution.
The only complain is that the laptop comes with modest Nvidia’s 512MB GeForce 9600M GT. So, you can not expect this laptop can work like a gaming notebook. This graphics card is ideal for entertainment use like editing photo, listening to music and watching HD movies. The system also provides photo-editing software tools.
The laptop will hit the market at the end of this month.
