Windows 7 RC1 is the pre-release version of the ultimate Win 7 and now everybody is able to download it and test it and compare it with the previous OSes. This pre-release version will be available at least through July 2009.
You need to know that RC1 will be expired on June 1, 2010 and from March 1 2010 the OS will shut down after every two hours. So you will have to reinstall a non-expired version of Windows before that.Also, you should try to keep the automatic updates on after installing RC1 because MS will update it regularly.
Your PC must have at least the following specs:
-1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
-1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
-16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics processor with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
if you download 32-bit version it will have the size of 2.47GB and the 64-bit version will weigh at 3.2GB. likewise, if you like to download "XP Mode" virtualization you will have to have a computer with at least 2GB of memory and 15GB space storage.
