OLPC Laptops in Columbia Thanks to Microsoft

I still remember that Microsoft was not keen to join One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project. Bill Gates is a smart man and he realized that if Microsoft did not join OLPC then the company would lose market share in OS segment in the whole world and it would give Linux a decisive victory in the third world countries. So, he became serious to strike a deal and OLPC bosses welcomed it. Now, many children in Colombia are going to be very happy to have a laptop that would run on Windows Operating System. Before that, Microsoft entered into partnership with government of Peru in this regard.

I live in a third world country and I am happy that Microsoft is becoming serious about OLPC laptops. I feel that it makes a good business sense in the long run for the richest company in the world.
