Acer Aspire one has stayed on top since a few weeks after releasing, and Acer could overtake Asus in netbook sale from Q3 2008. Although there were always some rumors about the new variant of Aspire one with bigger display to come in 2009, there has hardly been important news or report about it.
It seems that the long wait for the new Aspire One is gradually ending. There are some features and snap shots of new aspire one have been leaked out in the web.
The up coming Acer Aspire one will utilize a bigger 10.1-in LED-backlit display (with the same resolution of 1024×600) and the same 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor. If the information is right I am happy that Acer is using the same processor of the current Aspire One in its new model.
One of the differences between the current Aspire One and the upcoming system is the exchange of the current Expansion storage slot with SD Card reader (media card reader) slot.
The second difference comes to the trackpad. The mouse buttons will change to one button underneath the touchpad. However the keyboard stays the same.
You will also find optional Bluetooth and 3G mobile broadband connectivity on the new model.
The 10-inch Aspire one will feature up to 2GB of RAM, HDD, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi and VGA out port. The netbook will only run on Windows XP.
The laptop with be available in good-looking white, black and red color options.
The laptop should end up in February 2009.
