Gateway MD Laptop Series with Cinematic 15.6-in Display Starts at $650

Gateway today launched MD laptop series alongside 13.3-in UC laptop series At CES 2009 for American market. Gateway MD laptops like UC laptops are affordable fashionable multimedia notebooks that starts from $650.

According to Ray Sawall, senior product marketing manager for Acer America, "These notebooks are incredibly different in terms of style and form factor, yet they both include best-in-class technology at incredible values."


One of the models, Gateway MD7801u is equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400 (2.0GHz), 4GB of Dual Channel DDR2 667MHz Memory, 500GB hard drive and an 8X Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW w/ DVD-RAM featuring LabelFlash Technology and and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD graphics.

Amazingly this laptop is priced at only $800!


Gateway MD laptop Series utilizes a 16:9 aspect ratio and high-definition cinematic 15.6-inch widescreen display for watching HD movies or playing 3D games. The high-resolution 1366x768 display makes movies and digital content appear crisp and clear.

The laptops comes with 1.3 megapixel webcam, HDMI v1.3 media connection for enjoying high-definition video and audio through a single connection, integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD graphics or an option for dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics with DirectX 10 support and 512MB Dedicated Memory.

Regarding network connectivity the laptops sport 802.11a/b/g Draft-N with expanded wireless features, and Gigabit Ethernet wired connection.

The premium design of the new MD Series is as impressive as its capabilities. They are available in two colors, burgundy and black. The sculptured design feel marked by the cover's distinctive branding stripe flanked by silver accents. Both burgundy and black feature a textured palm rest and polished keyboard surround.

The MD Series notebook line will offer processor technology from both Intel and AMD, including Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon X2 and AMD Turion X2 processors. It can support up to 500GB of storage space and 4GB of DDR2 memory and Blu-ray optical drives for enjoying the latest high-definition movies.
