Since late 2007 that the first Eee PC was released the newly-made netbook market has seen a number of new netbooks. However, only few of them have brought new styles in the market and have changed feature set of netbooks and introduced new fashions and netbook categories like some of the Asus Eee PC netbooks, Acer Aspire One, MSI Wind PC and etc.

So, it is natural that consumers move forward with the market trend and they have more desire to purchase the new netbooks of big names in the market. So, Acer and Asus are dropping the price of their SSD-based 8.9-in and 7-in netbooks for clear inventory according to digitimes,” Acer's 8GB SSD version 8.9-inch Aspire one has dropped to NT$6,999 (US$202.27) in the Taiwan market, while Asustek Computer's 7-inch Eee PC now costs around NT$6,500-7,500 and the 20GB SSD version 8.9-inch Eee PC is around NT$8,999” in Taiwan.

The new trend of 160GB HDD in netbooks has decreased the demand of short storage SSDs, also. Therefore, this high demand is the second fact to see dropping price on earlier netbooks with SSD.

Well, this is the action that Acer and Asus has taken in Taiwan and may soon we see the same thing in USA.
