Dell Mini3i specifications has been released

On November 14. 2009, Dell unveiled its first smartphone the Dell Mini 3i. The Android based smartphone will be released by China Mobile in China and then Brazil. China Mobile is the largest mobile operator in the world with over 500 million subscribers. The specifications of the phone has been given out but the pricing has not bee mentioned yet. The phone will be released in Brazil by the end of this year by Brazilian mobile operator Claro. In the U.S. and Brazil, the Dell Mini 3i will be released as Dell Mini 3iX.

  • Display: The phone comes with a 3.5-inch display with 640 x 360 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The Chinese version of the phone comes with a stylus.
  • Camera: 3-megapixel auto-focus camera with 8x digital zoom, which can record video at 30fps and take still pictures and edit photos with the built-in photo editor.
  • Wireless communication: Because of Chinese government’s ban on wireless technology, the Chinese Dell Mini3i will not have 3G or Wi-Fi. It has Bluetooth Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR connectivity and A-GPS navigation.
  • Keyboard: On-screen QWERTY keyboard, hardwriting recognition, multi touch UI.
  • Memory expansion: It has microSD card slot that can support up to 32GB.
  • OS: The Dell Mini3i will run on OPhone, a Chinese version of Google Android.
  • Entertainment: China Mobile’s Mobile Market suite of services, games, productivity tools, wallpapers, ringtones and applications. You can access China’s popular Internet sites including 51.com, Kaixin and Renren.
  • Customization: Personalize MP3 ring tones, icons and shortcuts. Run widgets on the homescreen (sports, stocks, news and weather tickers).
  • Navigation: GPS navigation.
