Samsung i7110 is the latest smartphone by the South Korean company, which got announced today at the Symbian Smartphone Show in London. There's no teasing pet name this time as the Samsung i7110 seems to be pure muscle no-cheaptalk performer. Update: We finally have our Samsung i7110 preview up and running. Don't miss it! A true heavy weightlifter, the Samsung i7110 packs a serious punch under its belt. Powered by the S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 user interface with a full metal gear and only 12.9 mm thick, this newcomer isn't somebody to mess around with. We've already laid down some of the specs for you in a previous rumor, Samsung i7110 comes with a 2.6-inch OLED display with QVGA resolution, optical trackpad and an accelerometer for auto screen rotation. Wi-Fi (with DLNA) and GPS are also on board. To better utilize the GPS functionality, Samsung will ship the device with the Samsung Navigator application, which is based on the Route66 popular GPS navigation software. It will offer pedestrian GPS navigation for 10 major cities in Western Europe. The Samsung i7110 5 megapixel camera also offers some advanced camera features such as geotagging, face, smile and blink detection. It captures video in up to VGA resolution at 30fps and there's also a high-speed video recording mode. Multimedia-wise the Samsung i7110 also impresses with DivX and XviD video support straight out of the box, DNSe 2.0 audio technology, and there's also a FM transmitter, which allows you to stream your music collection to any FM receiver you can find. The storage space of 50MB won't get you far in that respect, but you can always expand it with an optional microSD memory card (up to 16GB). The Samsung i7110 should be available in Europe just in time for the Christmas holidays. It will start shipping first in Russia from November 2008 with other markets following soon. Since we have the pleasure of poking a pre-release i7110 unit in our office, here are several live shots just as a taster for our preview set to roll out later on today.
