HP (Hewlett-Packard) is going to offer AMD Athlon Neo silicon chip with its new Pavilion dv2 Laptop. Weighing at 3.8 pounds, HP Pavilion dv2 does not match the weight class of a typical ultraportable, ranging from 2.5 and 3 pounds. However, the new ultraportable from HP is 0.9-inches thick- meaning a bit thicker than other ultraportable notebooks. However, the price of HP Pavilion dv2 is perhaps one of the biggest attractions of the laptop as its price, ranging from $699 to $899, is indeed half the price of a typical ultraportable notebooks like Apple's MacBook Air, Toshiba Portege, and Sony Vaio TT series.
HP Pavilion dv2 comes with a 12.1-inch LED screen. Some of its other features include AMD-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 separate (discrete) graphics chip, 500 GB of storage. The laptop also offers WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) options as well as standard Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. However, the defining feature between the netbook version and the ultraportable version of HP Pavilion dv2 is definitely its processor- AMD’s Athlon Neo silicon chip. Now, let us see if the new processor can increase the performance of HP Pavilion dv2 ultraportable notebook.
