Today the last Macworld Expo was held without Steve Jobs as we expected. Also it was expected to see the official announcement for new Mac Mini that it didn’t happen either. But the good news is that unibody 17-in MacBook Pro was announced in details officially in this show. Also there are other things were talked about that I will mention at the end of this entry briefly. Also , after the break you can see two videos of this laptop made by engadget.

-17-in MacBook Pro with new unibody chassis is the thinnest 17-in laptop in the market with thickness of 0.98-inch. It weighs about 6.6 lbs so it is also among light desktop replacement laptops.

-The laptop goes for sale in late January with the price of $2, 799. The laptop is powered by 2.93 GHz, 4GBDDR3 RAM at 1066 MHz ( max 8GB and beneat the laptop there is no access panel to RAM and hard drive!), 320GB hard drive standard or option for up to 256GB SSD drive, Supre Drive optical drive and built-in both the GeForce 9400M and the GeForce 9600MT GPUs. As you see there is no Blu-ray yet!

-The 17-in display sports 1920x1200 LED backlit, 700:1 contrast ratio with support for 140-degree height (vertically) and 120-degree width (horizontally)viewing angle. The new display delivers 60% greater and richer color than the previous ones. Also there is an option for $50 anti-glare.

-Regarding ports and slots, the laptop uses bigger FireWire 800, 3USB ports, new mini display port Cinema, MagSafe and Express Card 34 slot.

Obviously, you can find iSight, the new glass-made trackpad with more finger gestures and the backlit keyboard for better view at night in this laptop.

One of the important features you can find in new 17-in MacBook Pro is its battery. Not only does the new battery keep the laptop thin and light, but it also delivers the longest battery life up to 8 hours. The battery is irremovable and uses custom-shaped cells. And has a Lifespan of cells is 3x industry standard.

Naturally, because the battery is irremovable, users are worried for the lifespan of this new battery. Well according to the Apple’s claim this new battery will have 5-year lifespan meaning it is supposed to work as much as the laptop is able to work properly.

Another quality of 17" Mac Pro laptop is that it is much environment-friendly. The aluminum chassis and the glass are highly recyclable and free of many sorts of toxins.

MacBook Pro was not the only thing was introduced in the Keynote. Here I am quoting the important part of speech. You can see the all details of speech and whole keynote coverage here:

- iTune: Now the iTunes Music Store is no longer iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store; you can now download and buy on 3G network as well. Same price and same selection on the iPhone as on iTunes. Same quality too. You can preview and purchase and you can buy anytime, anywhere on 3G. This starts today. we've had one pricing model for all songs. Starting in April they're giving them more flexibility: three tiers at $0.99, $0.69, and $1.29. More songs are going to be offered at $0.69 than $1.29 says Phil. The second thing: iTunes Plus which, as you know, is DRM-free. Encoded at 256kbps AAC encoding. One-click upgrades.

- iWork '09: $79 for iWork and $99 for the Family Pack. Or $49 with a new Mac. iWork '09 is shipping today.

- Now there's a "Mac Box Set" where you can get Leopard, iWork '09, and iLife '09 for $169 (that's a pretty darn good deal). It'll shape in late January with iLife '09.

- iWork.com is a new service to share documents with other people online, including collaboration.

- Numbers '09; Over 250 functions; new function view, type in and search for the function you want. Passing your mouse over a variable in a function gives you a tool-tip and it's all color coded. New chart options. Mixed chart types; multi-axis charts; charts with trendline;

- iMovie '09 comes with A new precision editor, Advanced drag & drop, New dynamic themes with titles, transitions, even credits, Animated travel maps and Automatic video stabilization to help take away the caffeine jitters

- There are also new versions of iWeb and iDVD '09 as well...but we're not going to talk about those today. $79 for upgrade; $99 for Family Pack. It ships at at the end of the month.

- iLife '09: iLife is "one of the reasons people buy a Mac today.

- Brand new iPhoto '09. Last year they introduced "Events", which took thousands of photos and turned them into a few hundred events. This year they're adding "Faces." iPhoto can also make a Smart Album that shows you all the picture of a particular group of people. The third way to help you find your favorite photos, called "Places." Wouldn't it be great if you could organize by place? Click on Places in the Library and you get a map with pins for where your photos are. It uses GPS Geotagging, integrated in many new cameras and in "the most advanced cell phone on the market."

- They've also added support for Facebook & Flickr. If you have Facebook set up, click the Facebook button and it sends the photo to Facebook. nd you can upload to Flickr with your geotags, etc.
