Asus is designing the portable laptops of this U series in the following of MacBook Air style; with tapered shape and light weight but much cheaper than Mac Air.
The 12-inch U20A, 13.3-inch UX30 and 15.6-inch UX50V are powered with one of Intel’s CULV processors up to 4GB of RAM memory, and up to 500GB HDD.
These laptops are thick up to 1.2-inch and sport LED-backlit screens, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
The 12-inch U20A laptop is powered by 1.2GHz Celeron M or 1.3GHz Pentium CPU, and features integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics and a built- in DVD burner.
The 13.3-inch UX30 laptop is thinnest laptop at 0.9 inches thick. It features 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo or 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo CPU and built-in Intel's GMA 4500 graphics. It lacks a built-in DVD burner and is the lightest laptop in its line up. It weighs 3.5 pounds.
The 15.6-inch UX50V laptop comes with 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo or 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, DVD burner and a dedicated GeForce G 105M graphics with 512MB of video memory.
The U81A, U80V, U50G and U51Vg laptops are thicker and heavier that the three models earlier I talked about. They sport full notebook-class processors (start from the 2GHz Pentium dual-core up to a 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo), up to 4GB of memory and up to 500GB HDD and LED backlight displays.
The 14-inch U81A laptop features integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics, while 14-inch U80V sports a 512MB Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics.
U50G and U51Vg laptops both feature larger 15.6-inch displays and GeForce G 105M graphics card.
