So far, the leading laptop makers such as HP, Lenovo and Dell have refreshed their laptop lines up with Intel’s latest Centrino 2 platform, new CPUs, GPUs and designs. Even, all of them have launched their new Netbooks for the over-crowded market of low-cost laptops. However, I can say that Apple is the only company that has stayed silent in the laptop market and has not introduced any new version of MacBooks and Macbook Air ( the ultra slim laptop was launched 8 months ago) so far. Even, It has lagged behind other manufacturers in the market of low-cost laptops and has not released any Netbook or mini laptop, yet.
I think this news spread in web today by an analyst from Citigroup shows that Apple is going to unveil some new productions including new version or next-gen MacBook laptops for its aficionados. According to the news, Apple's next-generation 13-inch MacBooks are on way to be available in the stores later this month. The new MacBooks will sport very thin Aluminum chassis, and LED-backlit display. The MacBook basic price tag will drop to $999 (currently $1099).
Tech Trader Daily wrote:
Field checks confirm that shipments of new MacBooks have begun, with a sharp production ramp planned for September and an introduction planned for early October," he wrote. "The most distinctive features of the new MacBook appear to be a very thin aluminum casing, an LED-backlit display and an aggressive entry-level price point.
Additionally, there are other rumors about a new product code-named "Brick" that will be disclosed at a new special event that will be held on October 14. Some rumors have mentioned that Brick will be a Mac Tablet while other rumors have talked about a NetBook or a sub-notebook.
